Zouhair Talbi, who set the Houston record in 2024 while running for Morocco, broke that mark in first Houston race as U.S. citizen.
After placing second in last year’s NCAA tournament, the Cougars (2-0 Big 12, 14-1 overall) have won eight consecutive, most recently a 69-65 home win Tuesday over No. 14 Texas Tech, and have a 15-game winning streak on the road (which ties a school record and is the nation’s longest active streak of road victories).
As Kelvin Sampson said, Houston’s defense against Baylor was strong, and the 55 points were the third lowest-mark the Cougars have held an opposing team to this season. Houston is also on a nine-game winning streak since losing to Tennessee back in November at the Players Era Festival.
